Climbing Helvellyn

The Trip begins with a long drive to the peak district leaving straight after work on a Friday evening to make the most of a weekend in the lake district. After many hours of driving and a couple of stops for some dinner at a service station. I arrived at my first destination in the Lake District and my bed for the night

In the morning I was greeted with lovely views of a small hill to inspire me for what I as about to try and climb:

In the morning we make way to Glenridding to begin the assent of the Mountain but first need to apply some sweet sun protection!

Then we was off! Already been greeted by magical scenery before we even got to the base of the Fell.

Soon we were climbing the Hill at a steady pace and I was coming to the realisation that I was not as fit as a used to be by a long shot!

We could see the cows had a much more sensible idea and where laying down enjoying the sun, rather than walking up an over sized Hill!

Upon Climbing about a third of the way up we had a nice break with Majestic views

Carrying on from this point you can see the joy on our faces as we struggled up the Fell.

I only managed to get as far as Red Tarn before I called it a Day, with some company we watched as the last member of the group not only climbed to the top of Helvellyn but also Catstye Cam.

After all was said and done, we walked back down then had a bite to eat and hoped our poor legs wouldn’t be too sore in the morning.
